Ingredients

  • 1/12 Cup Chana Dal
  • 2 1/2 Cup Water
  • 1 Finely Chopped Onion
  • 2 Finely Chopped Tomatoes
  • 4 Green Chillies
  • 1 Tablespoon Lime Juice
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 1 Teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1 Tablespoon Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 Tablespoon Asafoetida
  • 2 Tablespoon Chopped Coriander Leaves
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • Salt To Taste

Instructions

In a pressure cooker, add the dal, turmeric powder, salt & water.

Pressure cook the dal for 3 whistles.

In a medium flame pan, add some oil, cumin seeds, bay leaf, and asafoetida.

Once the cumin seeds start spluttering, add green chillies, ginger garlic paste, chopped onions and fry till they turn golden brown.

Add chopped tomatoes and fry for 2 mins

Add red chilli powder, garam masala, and lime juice and fry for 5 mins."

Add the pressure-cooked chana dal and mix everything together, and fry for 2 mins

Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
